The University of Sarajevo (UNSA) is the oldest and largest higher education institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). It is a public university, covering over 100 study programmes and over 200 departments, with around 45,000 students. The educational process is organized according to the Bologna principles. The UNSA has extensive experience in TEMPUS projects dealing with areas such as Governance Reform, Quality Assurance, Curriculum Development, IT, E-infrastructure or distance learning.
The UNSA is internationally oriented with the ambition of becoming fully integrated into the EHEA while preserving its academic tradition and cultural heritage. The UNSA has shared its practices in numerous FP and ERASMUS Mundus projects. The UNSA is a partner in the EMA2 project: Basileus, JoinEU-SEE PENTA, Sigma (Agile), Euroweb(+), Eraweb, GreenTech and Sunbeam.
The School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo (SEBS), established in 1952 as the Faculty of Economics, has become a leader in education and scientific research in the field of economic and business sciences in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It belongs to the top 5% of business schools and faculties of economics globally. SEBS is the only higher education institution in the region with a Center of Excellence for Workforce Research, a centre for executive education, professional training programs, and LLL programs. SEBS has approximately 150 employees across various departments.
Project Role
The University of Sarajevo (UNSA) leads Dissemination and Impact (Work Package 5), develops the Internal Quality Assurance plan, updates and develops new Web3 courses, and creates the Dissemination and Impact plan. This highlights UNSA's crucial role in ensuring the project's quality and its wide-reaching impact through effective dissemination of knowledge and project outcomes.
UNSA is highly qualified for its role in the project due to its extensive experience in TEMPUS projects focusing on governance reform, quality assurance, and curriculum development. It is internationally oriented and has contributed to numerous FP and ERASMUS Mundus projects. Additionally, UNSA has a strong background in organizing innovation summits and has significant project experience in areas relevant to the Web3 Innovation HUB project, such as fostering entrepreneurship and innovation, and developing deep tech skills.
