About

The Croatian Association for Blockchain and Cryptocurrency (UBIK) was founded in 2017 to unite a growing community interested in blockchain technologies. UBIK plays a key role in the regional Web3 ecosystem by providing advocacy, education, and networking for blockchain professionals and enthusiasts.

UBIK has focused from the start on organizing educational workshops and meetups, while also engaging in policy discussions with regulators to promote a healthy development of the ecosystem. It is the founding member and co-organizer of two major industry events: BlockSplit (a leading blockchain conference in Southeast Europe) and Money Motion (a FinTech-focused event).

UBIK actively facilitates collaboration between blockchain and financial sectors. It hosts discussions, panels, and maintains a broad network of professionals. UBIK has 400+ members (corporate and private), 7 board experts, and 3 core team members. Notably, 40% of its members are female — reflecting a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Project Role

UBIK is responsible for preparing and organizing the Web3 Accelerator Bootcamp, supporting the organization of international DeSci conferences in the Western Balkans, and organizing 'Women in Web3' meetups.

Its community reach and real-world blockchain expertise make it vital for bridging academic work and industry needs. UBIK ensures alignment between project deliverables and market trends, while fostering inclusive innovation and expanding awareness of Web3 technologies.
